World-renowned Canadian and Danish urban design expert Mikael Colville-Andersen is to be the special guest of the second Festival of Architecture conference in Warsaw. He will be giving the opening speech at the event, on how bicycle culture interacts with urban design.
Mikael Colville-Andersen is a leading figure in the world of urban design. He is the founder and CEO of Danish studio Copenhagenize Design (established in 2009), and in this role offers advice to cities and governmental institutions in terms of what he calls Bicycle Culture 2.0, or how to make cities cycle-friendly once more.
Colville-Andersen is known for his philosophy of simplifying urban planning. He encourages people to change their ways of thinking about cities, streets and approaches to modernisation. He has worked on many schemes in this field and his current clients include cities such as Amsterdam, Paris, Strasbourg, Detroit and Long Beach in California.
The Festival of Architecture will take place on September 20th at the SARP Headquarters in Warsaw (ul. Foksal 2).Admission is free for members of the Association of Polish Architects. Registration is available on the Festival’s website.
