VANK is a Polish team of architects, engineers and craftsmen. We design and produce furniture, modern chairs and tables, where aesthetics and functionality go hand in hand with an expressive cut of aluminum.

We have developed SITAG Formy Siedzenia creating advanced, ergonomic office chairs for almost 20 years. Simultaneously we’ve worked on a concept that will realize Polish brand’s design recognisability and our creativity.
In consequence, we stood up on VANK, a new Polish brand and went with it beyond office spaces only.

Art everywhere. It has always been an avant-garde design slogan. We reject imitation and regression and believe that the liberation of mediocrity, temporariness and parochialism can occur by intelligently designed objects precisely created with modem technology.

The aluminium we use in our products comes from recycling and is 100% recyclable. We also respect the criterion of locality by using our own foundry located near our business office.

Revitalisation (Discussion)

Modern architecture mixed with old architecture. How to integrate old, run-down tenements or factories
with the living fabric of the city? How to retain a piece of history and endow them with new userand
resident-friendly functions? A number of such schemes have succeeded as investors make the effort
to bring the two worlds together (the old and the new). As speakers at the Festival they recount their
experiences of revitalisation.

Placemaking (Discussion)

What is it that allows life to thrive around office buildings after-hours, so that these places are not left deserted? The answer is because that they are open areas within a city’s communal space. City squares are thus now being developed through the cooperation of investors and cities following consultations with local residents. Is this a mere fad or the perfect response to everyone’s needs?

Development of public space (Discussion)

Can the interests of the city, investors and residents be reconciled? Will local zoning plans ever cover100 pct of the city’s area? Or perhaps it is worth leaving one’s options open? Can Western European approaches show us how things could be done in Poland?

Smart buildings and smart cities (Discussion)

For six years, i.e. since 2010 when the first green certificate was issued in Poland, 350 buildings have been developed that can boast such certificates or pre-certificates. The majority are office buildings. Is it time for public institutions to implement a similar approach? Kraków could be blazing the trail in this regard. However, is it enough to be able to call a city ‘smart’? How best to design, build, equip and manage a modern conurbation.
